It wouldn’t be a true Chicago experience without a night out dancing to house music. And not far from Wicker Park is the perfect EXPO after-party spot: the Whistler. On April 13th, two of the city’s most knowledgeable DJ’s — Cordell Johnson and James Vincent — will be playing all night long. Their series “Excursions” has been running for over two decades and has a deep-rooted following that centers community through dance.

Influenced by the diverse sounds of deep house music, they incorporate Afro & Broken Beats, Latin & tech house and Nu-Soul & Jazz-Funk into the mix. To cool down, head over to Estero (2450 N Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL 60647). A triangle-shaped bar on the corner of Milwaukee and Fullerton, Estero is strung with lights and oozing with good vibes and vinyl records playing into the late evening.
