Shred the Shed is a four-day pop-up skatepark on the riverfront Fairgrounds at The Salt Shed. June 21-23 (4PM - 9PM) and June 24 (1PM - 9PM)
The pop-up opens on National Go Skate Day, June 21st, with a Portable Gray release celebration, and will conclude with a day party on Saturday, June 24th. The skate obstacles are designed and built by Chicago artist and skater, Juan Chavez. His work has been exhibited in Chicago at the Museum of Contemporary Art, The Mexican Fine Art Center Museum, and the Hyde Park Art Center. The week will feature guests skaters, DJs, and activations in addition to the myriad food and beverage options available on the fairgrounds. Shred the Shed supports Chicago Abortion Fund. Donations will be accepted on-site or donate online at the link today!The event is free but we do require guests to sign a waiver. Skaters and guests under the age of 18+ will be asked to have a parent or guardian sign a waiver.
